Personal:

I was born in 1979 and grew up in Mona Utah. I have a beautiful wife (Allison) and a very cute three year old boy (Jaren). We live in American Fork and I am a Health, Science, and PE teacher at Oquirrh Hills Middle School in Riverton. I coach Track and Cross Country at Riverton High.  My running often takes a back seat to my coaching.

I think Sasha and hot pink shorts are the bomb!

Go pinky!!

First long run for me this year. I think I did a 14 miler in February before I got sick and that has been my longest run. I met Josse, Michelle, Adam, Matt, and two other ladies that I never caught their names at the parking lot at the mouth of Provo canyon. 5:30 was a bit early for me but I managed. 80 degrees when we started

We took off at an easy pace and headed up the trail. We had a cut through restricted area where the fire was. On the way down we took the highway to avoid getting busted. I ran with Josse the whole way up and back. We ran into Phil Olsen running, and Curt Catmull marking his 1/2 marathon course. Curt told me he registered me for his race and wants me to do the bus turn around again, so I said sure. We ended up running up to the dam and coming back the same way. I stuck with Josse while the others took off to do some tempo. We took a GU at 14 miles which seemed to kick in and do the job. I need to start training with that stuff more often. The rest of the run felt good and relaxed for my first 20 miler since St. George last year. Josse kicked down the last Kilometer at 6 minute pace to finish the run. 2:37:00 for the 20.25 mile run.

We got in the river after which felt great. Then Josse had me lay down on the grass by the gas station to work on my butt and hamstring. I think it looked funny to people with her crouching over me kneeling on my butt and hamstring. One lady came and asked us if we need any help and a little girl told her mom," look that lady is beating that guy up!" It hurt like crazy but I know it helped me a lot. Thanks Josse! All in all it was a good morning. I was glad to finally get a long run in and it was nice to run with other people.

(Kayano- 254 miles)

I guess that's what I get for leaving too soon after the river sit, missing out on a Josse massage :( Great to see you again and looking forward to racing with you again next Saturday.

Adam, it was good to see you again. Yeah, Josse always hooks me up or beats me up after I run with her. Last time she scrapped me and this time she stuck her knees in my butt and leg. It bennefits me as much as her or more. I never have gotten anything out of running with Michelle but wet feet!;)

I am now registered for next week so maybe I can redeem myself from my Bryce performance. See you there.

I cry foul! I can kneel on your butt just as well as Josse can. . .well, I guess she has more practice, but what I lack in technique I can make up for with gusto. It was nice to run with you while you could keep up ;) Next step is to get you out for a workout when I come up to Sasha's.

Good to meet you today James. Tear it up next week in the race!

I don't know if I would want Michelle gusto on my behind;) She probably would have made you cry worse than me. Thanks James for staying with me.

20 miles. wow. you gave me a message a while back that said you were in Coach Mosterts ward and I am too. FYI I am the short blond kid you see passing the sacrament. Anyway good luck with you and your boys in the season and I look forward to racing against you.

Hey, are you coming to TOU 1/2? What races are you doing the next few months?

From James on Aug 03, 2008 at 17:57:48

Jon- I am doing Provo half next weekend now. I don't think I will be at TOU half, but I might do Hobble Creek. No real plans other than St. George.
