I had a sore hamstring on Saturday and had my wife work out some of the knots, as a result it has been super sore. I don't think it is injured just bruised. I took it super easy on my run in the snow. I could feel the hammy going up the hills, but it seemed to get better as I went. No watch.

(Hardrock- 289 miles)

I got home from my run and I got a phone call from Oquirrh Hills Middle School in Riverton and they offered me a job. I start on January 22. I guess we will be looking for a place to live in South Salt Lake Valley or Northern Utah County for now. If anyone knows of any good places let me know.

Congratulations!

Check out the dog discussion in JeffC blog, I am sure you'd enjoy it and have something to say.

Congratulations and well deserved. What subjects will you be teaching (everything)?

From James on Tue, Jan 08, 2008 at 15:10:28

Thanks guys! I will be teaching 9th grade Health. I will also teach PE and possibly a science class but not this first semester, all Health. There might be a coaching position at a nearby High School for Track. That would be nice since I gave up the Co-Head Track Coach position at Bear River to take the job.

Congrats

On the job. Hope all goes well with the transition.

I'm kind of struggling right now juggling everything between, school, home, scouting, driver's education, and running.

I need to find a better balance

From Paul Petersen on Tue, Jan 08, 2008 at 15:20:01

Congrats, I'm sure that's a load off. I'll miss having you nearby, but am happy for your opportunity.

From jtshad on Tue, Jan 08, 2008 at 15:21:48

Congratulations on the job!

From josse on Tue, Jan 08, 2008 at 15:38:43

oooo how exciting, I had to say something other that congrats because that is what everone else said. I like Utah county better, probably because I live in it.

From josse on Tue, Jan 08, 2008 at 15:40:39

I did that to my foot on saturday, worked out super deep because it was feeling tight and it was so sore the next day. I iced it alot and it is fine now. But that happens when you work something out deep, which you probably already know. Just take it easy until the soreness is gone.

That's cool about the job! I used to live near O.H.M.S.

You should check out Herriman.

From Cody on Tue, Jan 08, 2008 at 17:10:02

Congrats! I agree with Cal. Check out Herriman! We will miss you...

From Jon on Tue, Jan 08, 2008 at 17:20:48

Congrats. Do you have a coaching job, too?

From James on Tue, Jan 08, 2008 at 17:48:13

Thanks everyone. It is a load off. It is pretty hard to get a teaching job mid-year, so I feel blessed. I would have liked to stay in Northern Utah but the offers didn't come. Maybe someday I will get back.

From Stacy on Tue, Jan 08, 2008 at 20:03:38

Congratulations! At least I know that, what with the blog and all, you won't go into the SLC hole that all of our friends go into (the one where they live an hour and a half away and I see them every two years or so).

From James on Tue, Jan 08, 2008 at 20:19:02

Stacy- you might see us even more than you do right now. Allison's parents live up here and the cabin is up this way as well.

From Brent on Tue, Jan 08, 2008 at 21:59:19

Congrads James, you will be close enough for us to go on a run sometime.

From Jody on Tue, Jan 08, 2008 at 22:04:48

Congrats on the job!!

From Lybi on Tue, Jan 08, 2008 at 22:10:56

Yay, James! Congratulations on the job. Good luck with your hamstring issue!

From Jon on Tue, Jan 08, 2008 at 22:15:53

So exactly how do you pronounce Oquirrh anyways?

From James on Tue, Jan 08, 2008 at 22:38:37

It is after the Oquirrh mountains that are west of Salt Lake. It sounds like Oaker. In fact, one of the possibilities for the name of the new Temple being built down there is the Oquirrh Mountain Temple.

Great news man, happy to hear it.

From marci on Wed, Jan 09, 2008 at 17:20:35

Wait, does this mean you are takin Allison away from me. :(

From MichelleL on Sat, Jan 12, 2008 at 19:04:30

Congratulations on being employed! Always a good thing! You will get milder weather too and more options than the highway, the canal, or the field with the bulls in it.

I could see how Painters may not fit in with the new job/need to move stuff. Found a place to live yet?
