Ran with Greg at practice today.  We did 5 miles at 7:15 pace for the High School and then lifted upper body afterward.

Ran with Greg today again, just behind the faster boys.  We ran a loop form Monarch up around the Cove pond and back on the trail.  We picked up Jesse at the Cove pond when the other boys stopped to go potty.  The last 1.5 miles we pushed a tempo run.  i was just behind them and ran 8:48 for the mile and a half.  We did a cool down mile in 7:25 to finish the run. 53:30 for the run.

It was a beautiful day in the mid 40s.  I didn't feel great on the run because of congestion, I couldn't breathe comfortably, but felt pretty good right after.

Not super cold today, but we got snowed on the entire run.  I ran easy back with Jessica today and we had a good little chat.  Ran from the school up to the trail head on Mirabella and back.

Lifted upper body afterward.

Ran over to practice at Rosecrest.  Ran with Greg and the guys for a few miles then came home.  Pushed the last mile in 5:47, which is fairly quick for me now a day.  7:15 ave. for the run.  Weather was great and the legs were tired.

Easy run over to Rosecrest from home at lunch.  I did a few striders and came back.  Felt really sluggish and tired today, not to mention the psoas and groin are sore.  Very congested and had a hard time breathing for some of the run, probably why I felt sluggish.  7:29 pace

I warmed up slow for 1.5 miles on the course.  My body has been fighting super hard to not get sick for a week and a half.  I have been very congested while running this week too.  Tis the time of year for crap to be going around, you know.  Also, I had some stomach issues with diarrhea this morning, which is very rare for me.  I knew this would be rough today, but it was rougher than I thought.

The biggest thing for me today was I had a super hard time breathing.  I coughed and hacked the entire way.  I would get my throat cleared for a minute and start feeling better and then I would get clogged up again.  Bill Cobler who was back and forth with me probably thought I was going to die!  The shoulders and diaphragm were tight too.  I struggled the whole way, which seemed like forever today, and could hardly stay under 6:30 per mile.  I got passed by 4 guys in the race and caught 2 of them (Nate and Bill) again in the last mile.  39:42 was my final time.  I cooled down for a mile after and finally got so I felt like I could breathe again.  My body was just not ready for a 10k, but I suffered through it today.  I am a little nervous for a 15k in two weeks after today.:)  Better get the oxygen ready for that one, eh!

My last 10k was February 9, 2008 and I ran it in 35:08, and was sick.  It will be a while before I am back to that form.
